Shelly Nadashi

Nadashi uses her own body to upset the power balance between people and things; confusing the distinction between subject and object. She tells dismantled and fragmented stories with thrift of prop and script. Her live performances engage in dialogue with pre recorded sound effects and disembodied voices. The soundtrack augments a precise comic timing. She combines the painful and the absurd, touching upon a complexity of human emotions. The viewer is embroiled in a battle with the inanimate.
